I’ve been meaning to put all of these things in one place for some time. So, here’s a random collection of what’s currently going on with the CD and what I know has appeared so far:
* Team Clermont (the college radio promotion company) really thinks the record would do best at AAA, and that means Non-Comm since we can’t afford the money it would take to do Commercial. They love the record, but don’t feel like they are the best to represent it to AAA.
* Paste Magazine loves the CD. They’re putting a song on the compilation CD for the second issue. Too late for review but will try to mention it in the issue. Carried in Borders. Aimee Mann is on the same compilation. I know because an assistant at her manager’s office wrote to the head of her street team that she (the assistant) saw my name.
* Michael Ehrenberg (Outsource Music?) and Jesse Barnett will be promoting to AAA non-comm. He loves the record. Doing it as a favor to Amy, but very enthusiastic about it. 25 AAA non-comm stations in the US, also pushing to a few select commercial ones. They’re pushing “Overture” as the single. Wants to do live on-air stuff.
* Team Clermont will be doing 175 selected college-based stations.
* Sent CDs to Music for the Masses, the licensing company that gets weaklazyliar such sweet spots. I just realized last night I had a dream where Julie D’Angelo called me to tell me they were getting a lot of response from the CDs.
* notlame.com adding CD to site. Bruce says I ‘really nailed this release.’
