(all the) Sceneless Hipsters, day 7

Well, things went as usual this week in Hipsterville, though I got there exceedingly late. We swiftly moved through the final three songs, so everything is sort of sketched out now. It’s funny how this has come together, we simply came up with the songs in the order they’ll appear on the record. For the concept of it (without going into too much detail, it’s in the form of a conversation of sorts) the fact that we did it this way works really well, because in the earlier songs our styles are more distinct, but gradually they become less so, you can hear them merging into something else. Starting next week we’ll actually demo them out, which I assume will include working on the lyrics.

This was about as close to stumbling as we’ve come so far, and we still ended up with two more songs. Our moods seem to be similar from visit to visit, and I think both of us were really sort of out of it this week. The first song was a bit of a struggle, though that’s relative since I noticed once we got a quick recording of it that it had taken an hour, which is what they all seem to take. These two will probably need the most tweaking once we started to really flesh them out, but it was impressive that we got them out at all.

More of the same, two songs sketched out. We’re up to seven songs now and obviously it’ll be a full-length record when it’s all done. Twelve songs are what we’re shooting for.
